Event - Year 3 at the Black Country Museum

10 December 2014

On Wednesday 10th December 2014 Year 3 went on a trip to The Black Country Museum. It helped us answer the question 'How did the Victorian Period change the Birmingham we know today?'

We visited the school and had a Victorian style lesson. The Head Teacher was very strict and Mrs Cooper even got the cane! We had to sit with very straight backs and use our best handwriting.

We also visited the mine, which we enjoyed very much, even though it was a little bit scary. We couldn't believe that children spent most of the day down there. We agreed that going to a Victorian school would have been better than working down the mine.

We had such a great day visiting the different shops and houses. We learnt a lot about Victorian life and how things have changed over the years.
