Event - E-Safety Day

5 February 2019

Reception

During internet safety day Reception learnt a new song to remind us of how to stay safe online and when using the tablets from Buddy the dog. Buddy’s ‘Use Your Tablet Safely’ Song (Sung to the tune of Frère Jacques): Ask your grown-up, Ask your grown-up, Ask for help! Ask for help! Use your tablet safely, Use your tablet safely, Woof, woof, woof! Woof, woof, woof! We discussed different scenarios where we would need to ask for help or tell a grown up.

Year 2

In Year 2 we looked at different real life scenarios and how we would deal with them. We then discussed scenarios that could occur online and compared them to how we deal with things in real life. We discussed the importance of staying safe on line and made class posters to promote staying safe.

Year 3

In Year 3, we watched a video about how to stay safe online. We also learnt how to be respectful users of the internet. We also learnt that we must get consent before posting pictures of others online. After the video, we made posters informing others about how to stay safe online.

Year 5

In Year 5, we discussed how to use the internet safely. We compared drawings of the internet that we had done and discussed how we all drew something different because the internet is complex. We then looked at different scenarios and thought about how we would react, what the right thing to do would be and how we could prevent getting ourselves into potentially dangerous situations when using the internet.

Year 6

In Year 6, we discussed how to use the internet safety and then made posters. We also looked at different scenarios and thought about how we would react, what the right thing to do would be and how we could prevent getting ourselves into potentially dangerous situations when using the internet.
