Event - Holy Week Assemblies

5 to 11 April 2019

Starting on 5th April 2019 our Key Stage 2 pupils led the school in some Holy Week Assemblies showing Jesus’ journey to the cross.

On Friday 5th April, Year 3 led the first of the Holy Week assemblies. In the assembly, the children retold the events of Palm Sunday, when the people praised and worshipped Jesus as he entered Jerusalem.

On Monday 8th April, Year 4 continued the Holy Week assembly by portraying The Last Supper. The children worked really hard to send the message and helped the audience to remember such a significant part of Jesus’ journey.

On Tuesday 9th April 2019, Year 5 led a Holy Week assembly about the arrest and betrayal of Jesus. They depicted how Judas betrayed Jesus, Peter denied knowing him and how Jesus was accused, beaten and sentenced to death by the High Priests.

On Thursday 11th April, Year 6 led the last of the Holy Week assemblies. In the assembly, the children retold the events of the crucifixion, it was a moving assembly.
