Event - Year 5 at RAF Cosford

5 March 2016

This term, Year 5 have been learning about WWII and the effects of the war on the people of Britain.

We started the day by looking at different planes that flew during WWII. We then had the chance to handle different artefacts from the WWII period including clothes, recipe books and gas masks.

We even got to go inside a real Morrison shelter! Unfortunately, our session was interrupted by an air raid so we had to make our way to an Anderson Shelter where we listened to the sound of the bombing raids outside.

Later in the day, we had the chance to look at some of the science around flight and got to handle lots of practical equipment to help us learn about air resistance and aero-dynamics.
