Event - Year 2 Visit Leicester's Space Museum

February 2016

As we have been learning about famous explorers such as Neil Armstrong, we took a trip to the Leicester Space Museum. When we arrived we took part in a rocket workshop where we made our own rockets and using an air pump, we launched our rockets into the sky.

Throughout the day we explored the museum and learned lots of new facts about different planets in the solar system. We were able to drive our own simulator replicating some of the equipment used on a space craft.

Finally in the afternoon, we were all invited to the planetarium to watch a 4D film, all about astronauts and their experiences. We were able to imagine exactly what it would feel like in space.
