Event - Year 4 at Warwick Castle

8 December 2015

On Tuesday 8th December 2015, Year 4 visited Warwick Castle as part of our topic 'The Normans'. It helped us answer our big question 'what impact did the Normans have on England?'

The children explored the Normans whilst at Warwick Castle by stepping back in time and participating in a re-enactment of the Battle of Hastings in 1066. This helped us understand how the battle took place and why the Normans won.

We enjoyed visiting the castle and finding out many interesting facts about different monarchs of England - especially Henry VIII and his six wives.

We had a wonderful time climbing to the top of the moat house and seeing the castle grounds. We have learnt a lot about the Normans and the monarchy of England.
