On Thursday 9th November, St. Mark’s celebrated a Mass like no other! We celebrated All Souls’ Day with a traditional Mass but incorporated the Mexican tradition of ‘Day of the Dead’. All children were invited to make memory boxes, commemorating our loved ones that are in Heaven. We decorated the hall with the boxes and these were blessed during the Mass. All classes completed different activities to learn more about the Mexican tradition and how it relates to our Catholic traditions – including comparing altars, doing Mexican dances and drawing pictures of Heaven. Mrs B made us all a themed lunch with some delicious Mexican food and biscuits. It was a whole day of celebrations!
