October is the month of the Rosary. During this time, Reception have been learning the Hail Mary prayer and KS1 have been practising all the prayers needed to pray the rosary. In KS2, we have been praying a decade of the rosary every day and this year we have focussed on the sorrowful mysteries. Here are some activities we got up to to support our time in prayer:

In Year 4, they decided to create triptych’s of the crucifixion to use as their  focus when praying the fifth sorrowful mystery – the crucifixion. They also used this in their upcoming prayer and liturgy when they lead the Rosary for other classes.

After using Mark 10 Mission to support them with learning how to pray the Rosary, Y2 acted out each of the sorrowful mysteries. They then used these pictures as reflections when praying a decade of the Rosary on a Tuesday and Friday.

Our Rosary Group have been busy leading the Rosary for our whole community to attend at lunchtime and our Y6’s also lead the Rosary for each KS2 class and staff at the beginning of October as role models of our faith.
