On Monday 22nd May, Year 6 travelled by bus to Springer’s Hill Synagogue to learn all about the Jewish faith. We were lead by a very knowledgeable tour guide, who shared lots of information as well as his own personal experiences and allowed us to ask lots of questions.
“You know if it’s a Jewish house as they have Mezuzah’s on the doors. These are wooden boxes with prayers inside that remind them to pray and keep their houses blessed.” CP Y6
“The symbol of the Jewish faith is the Star of David. They are usually blue. Blue, red and gold are considered royal colours so we saw lots of them in the synagogue.” DR Y6
“Jewish people believe that Jesus was just a normal person like you and I. They only believe in the Old Testament and not the New Testament. They are still waiting for the Messiah to come.” DN Y6
